Paris to Barcelona in 6 h 39 min, diving under the Pyrenees through the 8.3 km Perthus tunnel at the Spanish border.
Direct TGVs have linked Paris and Barcelona since December 2013, when the Perpignan–Figueres high-speed link under the Perthus pass opened to through traffic. Euroduplex double-deckers leave Gare de Lyon and run the Rhône valley at full line speed, slow along the lagoons of the Languedoc coast, then dive beneath the Pyrenees to emerge at Figueres and Girona. Six and a half hours after the Seine, the train eases into Barcelona Sants.
