Six EuroCitys a day across the North European Plain, with the cult WARS dining car serving pierogi between the Oder and the Vistula.
The Berlin-Warszawa-Express brand dates from 2002, but expresses have shuttled between the two capitals since the age of the Ost-Express. Today six EuroCity pairs cross the Oder at Frankfurt and lope across the North European Plain via Poznań behind Polish EU44 electrics. The WARS dining car — pierogi, żurek and złoty prices — is half the reason regulars still choose the train over the plane.
Along the way
- Oder crossing at Frankfurt
- Lubusz pine forests
- Poznań’s cathedral island
- Warta and Vistula plains
- Approach into Warszawa Centralna
