Italy’s 300 km/h flagship on French rails, threading the 13.7 km Fréjus tunnel of 1871 — back since April 2025 after a 19-month landslide closure.
Trenitalia sent its Frecciarossa 1000s to challenge the TGV on home rails in December 2021, and the red arrows have become the stylish way between Paris and Milan. After a 300 km/h sprint across Burgundy the train slows into the Maurienne, threading fortress valleys to the 13.7 km Fréjus tunnel of 1871 — the passage whose landslide closure severed the route for 19 months until April 2025. Turin and the Po plain bring the speed back before Milano Centrale.
